Since Henry Malone founded the company in 1926, five generations of the Malone family and hundreds of dedicated employees have helped build the trusted mechanical & electrical contractor we are today.
Our centenary year is an opportunity to celebrate our heritage, recognise the commitment of our staff, clients and partners, and give back to the local community that has supported us for a century.

To mark our 100th anniversary, we are proud to launch Challenge100 – 100 Challenges for 100 Years, a year-long celebration that brings together our staff, clients, suppliers, families and our supported charity, Smile for Life.
Throughout 2026, we will take on 100 unique challenges designed to celebrate our heritage, strengthen our community and raise vital funds for Smile for Life – a North East charity that supports young people with disabilities and learning difficulties to achieve their potential.
These challenges will range from light-hearted activities to ambitious personal and team goals, all focused on social value, wellbeing, skill sharing and community engagement. Participation is open to everyone connected with H. Malone & Sons, and we will be inviting colleagues and partners to get involved throughout the year.
Challenge100 will culminate in a symbolic final event – a centenary walk from the historic Tyne shipyards, where Henry Malone began his career, to our Gosforth office, finishing with a celebration at Gosforth Civic Theatre.
We look forward to sharing our progress, stories and achievements as we complete all 100 challenges. Together, we hope to make a meaningful difference and celebrate our centenary year in a way that reflects the values our company was built on.
