Wednesday 14th January was the official launch of our Challenge100 programme – 100 challenges for 100 years – where we are using our centenary to make a positive difference, working with Smile for Life Childrens Charity.

We welcomed 12 young people, who are supported by the Smile for Life Childrens Charity, to take part in an exciting workshop focused on developing practical skills in plumbing, heating and electrical work. For many of the young people, opportunities like this aren’t accessible so through lots of effort and planning, we were excited to make this opportunity a reality.

The H. Malone team set up various workstations so that they could have some hands-on experience in tasks like wiring sockets and crimping pipes which was guided by our wonderful team.

The Smile for Life team also kindly provided us with a Café Beam popup, which was ran by their young people alongside the workshop, showcasing their delicious produce.

The day was a huge success! Every attendee fully embraced the experience and left feeling accomplished and inspired by the new skills they had learned. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and we hope to carry this positive energy throughout our 100th year as we continue supporting Smile for Life’s incredible work with young people.
