H. Malone began in 1926 when Henry Malone left the Tyne shipyards to establish a plumbing and heating business from his home in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne. His reputation for quality workmanship and professionalism soon spread, leading to work with private clients, local authorities and commercial organisations. As the business grew, Henry’s four sons joined him – forming H. Malone & Sons.

The company became a limited business in 1964 and relocated to a purpose-built office and workshop at Gosforth Industrial Estate, where we remain proudly based today. In 2022, we strengthened our mechanical and electrical capability through the acquisition of McNally & Thompson Electrical Contractors. Fully integrated and operating under the H. Malone name, this expansion reinforced our ability to deliver combined M&E packages across a wide range of sectors.

Now a fifth-generation family business, we remain committed to the values on which we were built – loyalty, integrity, community and long-term employment opportunities for local people. Through periods of growth, change and industry evolution, our focus has always been on delivering a reliable, high-quality service while supporting the people and communities around us.
